Belt Grinder Forum, I could add money if I have been doing research on different 2x72 belt grindersI am wanting to but a good quality grinder. These grinders are extremely useful in the shop, and I find mine, the most used machine in my shop. I'm wondering for a new hobby/occaisional use if a regular less expensive The standard workhorse grinder in the knife maker's world is the 2"x72" Belt grinder. All welded construction, using many components available online. My son gave me a $300 big river gift card and I would like to get a belt grinder. My experiences: I am an amateur maker with a small shop. Main question is motor speed.
